speech

APECHS had six students participate in a scrimmage yesterday evening.

Keyon Kamali got 1st in storytelling.

Quinn Hayden won his Big Questions debate. He was assigned the negation side of "Resolved: On balance, religion and religious practice benefit a society."

Rabiya Kamran, Arabella Camuñez, Janaki Venepally, and Shira Jaffe each participated in the pro con challenge where a student chooses any debate topic relative to that tournament, then gives two speeches, one for and one against. They sent in their recordings for this. Rabiya and Arabella talked about increased opportunities for access to college. Shira discussed whether workers have an unconditional right to strike or not. Janaki talked about whether the U.S. should increase investments in deep sea mining. Janaki and Arabella each came in 1st in their respective "rooms." And Shira and Rabiya each came in 3rd.
