Reminder: New Mexico Department of Health Offers Free Back-to-School Vaccinations
As schools prepare to welcome students back for the upcoming academic year, the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH), will host free vaccination clinics in July to ensure all students meet state immunization requirements.
New Mexico law requires that all students enrolled in school be up-to-date on immunizations unless legally exempted. To help families meet these requirements, NMDOH will offer free vaccinations for all children ages 18 and younger, regardless of insurance status or whether they are established patients.
NMDOH will host walk-in vaccination clinics on July 23, 24, 25, 28, and 29, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Las Cruces Public Health Office, located at 1170 N. Solano, Suite A, Las Cruces, NM 88011.
Vaccines offered include all those required for school attendance:
• DTaP/Tdap (diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis)
• Polio
• MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella)
• Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type b)
• Hepatitis A and B
• PCV (pneumococcal conjugate)
• Varicella (chickenpox)
• Meningococcal ACWY

The conference will be on Friday, Sept. 19, from 10am-4pm at DACC Espina Campus, 3400 S. Espina St. in the DASH/DAHL Buildings.

Thrive Thursday
This week, we’re excited to spotlight Breanna Santome, the Family and Community Outreach Facilitator for the LCPS Bilingual Community Outreach team!
Breanna has been instrumental in supporting LCPS families, building strong bridges between the district and community partners to sponsor food drives, hygiene drives, and more. She's known for her creative, outside-the-box thinking and tireless dedication to making a difference.
Through her leadership, LCPS partners with organizations like Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico, Walmart (Walton & Valley), Albertsons, Sprouts, Tresco Inc., Fiesta Foods, Las Cruces First, and SaveMart just to name a few.
Today LCPS hosted its first drive-thru food distribution event at Central Office in partnership with Roadrunner Food Bank, an initiative Breanna helped bring to life! Starting today, these events will take place every first Thursday of the month at the LCPS Family Support Center (9:30 AM until supplies last).

This morning, the LCPS Bilingual Community Outreach team partnered with Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico to host a drive-thru food distribution at the LCPS Family Support Center.
Thanks to the incredible support from Roadrunner Food Bank, the LCPS Bilingual Community Outreach team, LCPS Safety and Operations teams, Community School Coordinators, students from Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, and our dedicated community volunteers, the event was a big success.
The next drive-thru food distribution will happen at the Field of Dreams Baseball Complex on June 20 at 9:30 a.m. Food will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until we run out.
Cruces Creatives is Making Summer more fun!
They are collaborating with Las Cruces Public Schools and City of Las Cruces with Munch and Make Activity Kits at Jornada, Loma Heights & Monte Vista each week! This week’s fun is Loom Weaving!
